Nominations for The Lois B. Lee Award 2014

The Lois B. Lee Award is given each year to an outstanding teacher at Myers Park Traditional School. Named for a much-loved former MPTS teacher and principal, the award includes $1000 for the winner to use for professional development and classroom materials. This year’s winner will be presented at a luncheon for all teachers on March 13.

Any teacher may be nominated, and nominations can come from any MPTS student or parent. Nominations may be submitted using the attached form or may be in the form of a letter or testimonial and should address the following points:
  • How the nominee thinks beyond his/her job function and shares knowledge with others.
  • How the nominee demonstrates outstanding effort and commitment to students.
  • How the nominee consistently exhibits a “can do” attitude.
  • Examples of how the nominee goes beyond the call of duty to complete his/her job.

Please note that a teacher can only receive this award every 5 years; recent winners include:

2009—Stephanie Leipzig

All nominations are due by Friday, February 14th. Please send printed or written nominations to your child’s homeroom teacher; electronic submissions are strongly encouraged and should be emailed to tarynmecia@gmail.com. Wanted a printable form? .

The Executive Board of the MPTS PTA will review the nominations and select the winner by secret ballot.
